Original Comic Art!

First up, here's Gil Kane's cover for Superman #392!

And here's page 28 from Superman #395, by Curt Swan!

Gliders and Original Art!

I believe these gliders came out around the 50th Anniversary. Pretty cool, aren't they?

And here we have page 1 from Superman #387, by Curt Swan!

Pepsi Glass and Glasses Case!

I always get a kick out of finding these old glasses on eBay... haven't ever bid on any of them, though!

A glasses case is definitely one of those items that's probably more appropriate to Superman than to any other character!

Board Games!

Lex Luthor doesn't usually get much love from licensors, so it's nice to see him featured on this board game!

This Transogram game never stays in my budget range whenever a copy comes up for sale!

Foreign Figure and Fork and Spoon Set!

I have no idea if this was a licensed figure or a bootleg... kind of interesting, though, isn't it?

I believe I posted a photo of this 1950s Fork and Spoon set before, but this photo lets you see more details!

Ideal Playset!

For those Superman fans whose parents couldn't afford the Megos, Ideal gave you an alternative...

Look at all the great stuff you got with this!!! If I were in a position to recommend to toy companies stuff to be reissued, this would definitely be on my list!

Flying Toys!

This first toy above was made in Mexico in 1979... and it looks cooler than the one below...

I have no idea who manufactured this, or when it was made.

Flying Japanese Toy and Flying Train Book & Record Set!

I really wish I had a larger, sharper photo of this item from Japan!

This Flying Train Book and Record set is completely unfamiliar to me... I don't think I've seen MP3s of this being offered anywhere on the net!

Tuesday, March 23, 2010

Club Pin and Flying Bingo Game!

Not sure when this Superman Club Pin originated, but I like it!

"Flying Bingo" seems to be the word for this game... trying to get a "Bingo" by throwing discs at the game board? I can't imagine too many of these games are still complete these days, given how likely those discs would get lost!

Monday, March 22, 2010

I would absolutely love to have these clocks hanging on the walls of my office!

Sunday, March 21, 2010

Cartoonarama and Chemtoy Figure!

Here's one of those items I'd really love to get some day... so far as I can tell, the Cartoonarama is kind of a paint by numbers set, except there's no numbers -- it's up to you to paint it!

This 1970s-era PVC was made by Chemtoy, and I can't help but think that for that era, $1 was kind of pricey! These days, however a buck would make it irresistable!

Card Game and Carnival Pillow!

I don't know anything about this Superman card game other than it has Neal Adams artwork on the box!

Man, I know if I had ever seen this pillow offered as a prize for some carnival game, I would've spent every penny I had trying to win it!

Original Comic Art!

The first item today is page 18 from Superman 357! Yes, it's another Curt Swan piece.

And here's page 1 from Superman #261, also Swan!

And here's a bonus page! It's some kind of promo piece (or possibly a commission) by George Tuska!

Original Comic Art!

First item today is page 28 from Superman #418, by Curt Swan!

Next up is Wayne Boring's re-creation of Superman #53's cover!

Wednesday, March 17, 2010

Flip Flashlight and Floor Puzzle!

I really like the art on the card for this 1968 Flip Flashlite, don't you?

This super-cool Super Powers Floor Puzzle appears to use artwork from the DC Style Guide by Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez!

Figural Fabric and Anniversary Flicker Coins!

I'm guessing that this fabric was produced for making home-made Superman pillows, but I could be wrong!

As you can probably guess, these flicker coins were produced in 1982 in celebration of Superman's 50th Anniversary!

Monday, March 15, 2010

Breakfast Set and Silverware!

Why aren't they making more of this kind of stuff these days? I mean, sure, there's the occasional Superman plate or mug or whatever, but I don't think I've seen Superman silverware in ages!

Decoration and Dexterity Game!

So, do you recognize this item? Maybe if I showed you the ad it appeared in:

Ah, now you recognize it, don't you? It's kind of a beaded wall hanging thing, similar in some ways to those home-made "stained glass window" craft things that used to be popular.

This dexterity game must've been some kind of give-away, I'm thinking. In case you can't tell, it's one of those things where you're trying to roll the little ball bearings so that one's in each of the holes.

Custom Megos and Dabs Watch!

I have to admit, I love these custom-made Mego figures of George Reeves as Superman and Clark Kent! Extremely well-done!

I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but I particularly love Superman watches. My wife's bought three for me so far (although I only have two of them now, because one was lost while we were at a beach a few years back). I would hope that if my wife is in a mood to buy me a new watch for my collection, and finds the above one at a good price, she gets it for me!

Comic Art!

Hey, it's art by someone other than Curt Swan! This cover to Superman #364 is by George Perez.

On the other hand, page 9 from Superman #417 here is definitely Swan!

Thursday, March 11, 2010

Comic Art!

Today's post starts with page 32 from Superman #321, by Curt Swan!

And here's page 10 from Superman #326, also by Swan!

Wednesday, March 10, 2010

Comic Art!

Here's a nice Curt Swan page, it's page 3 from Superman #313!

And here's page 14 from Superman #321, also by Curt Swan!
