It's Krypto's Birthday!

No, not Superman's Krypto... my Krypto!

krypto

Krypto is a white boxer, and today is his 5th birthday! This photo was taken in 2006, one of the two years I dressed him as his namesake for Halloween! Sometimes, when I see him running around and jumping over things, I wonder how much like his namesake he thinks he has to be! Anyway, to celebrate Krypto's birthday, here's some Krypto-related merchandise!

Slurpee Cups Redux!

Time for another round of 1973 Slurpee Cups featuring members of the Superman Family!

Apparently, when they were choosing the art to use, someone at 7-Eleven said, "Let's pick the kinkiest Lois Lane image we can find for this cup!"

Talking Softee, Weird Japan Toy, and Mirror!

softee_supermantalking.jpg

So far, this Superman Talking Softee is the only character in this short-lived Mego line I've seen offered on eBay!

spacevisitor1.JPG

This Japan Superman toy has to be, hands-down, the most weird Superman item ever created!

spidey_supes_mirrors.jpg

I have to say I really dig the Superman mirror offered here! Kind of wish I'd put a bid on it now, because I haven't seen one like it offered since!

Fiddlesticks and

sh_fiddlesticks

Fiddlesticks apparently was an attempt to get part of the Tinkertoy market, but it doesn't seem to have gone anywhere, even licensing Superman, Batman, The Hulk and Spider-Man for their toy line! Can't really tell from this photo how they incorporated those heroes, though!

sh_giantcoloringbooks.jpg

I love finding new coloring books I haven't seen before offered on eBay... sometimes I even bid on 'em, although mostly unsuccessfully! The Super Friends one above obviously didn't bother following the character designs from the show!

Slurpee Cups!

Ah, fond memories of my childhood, hot summer days when my thirst would be quenched by an ice-cold Slurpee... and for one glorious summer, those Slurpees came in plastic cups featuring Superman and other DC characters!

slurpee_730dcgroupa
Jonathan Kent and Perrry White appear in this group of cups!

slurpee_730dcgroupb
This group includes Superboy, Lana Lang, Jor-El & Lara, and Jimmy Olsen!

I think these need no further explaining:

Cosmic Ball and Sun Visor!

miscsh_spideygamesuperball

What is it that makes that ball a Cosmic Ball, and what does it have to do with Superman? Rao only knows.

msh-dc_hulkspideysupesvisors

Superman's joined by the Hulk and Spider-Man in this set of sun visors. I don't think I would've thought these were cool at any age!

Pocket Super Heroes!

I've showed you Comic Action Heroes before, which was Mego's attempt to crack the smaller-scale market popularized by Kenner's Star Wars line, but they also did Pocket Super Heroes, too!

Here's Jor-El!
